There is no one, correct way of dealing with trauma, so it didn't come off as flippant. It's a slow burn, with spice coming in the 2nd half of the book. A good read.

Serenity was abused by her parents when she presented as an omega and sold off to someone who starved, assaulted and made her do questionable things while he waited for her heat to come. In a desperate attempt at getting free she was able to run away and was hit with a pack who ended up being a scent match. While this story was sweet I wanted to see some development of Serenity and Remy’s characters. Serenity was abused and forced to do things from an alpha’s bark, I wanted to see her growth from that but it was basically night and day. Same with Remy, he just miraculously had an aha moment and that was it. Overall a sweet story.
