This is a very German pencil sharpener, it is spring loaded, so pull out the metal clamp then mount the pencil in the metal clamp then you can just turn the crank and the the spring draws the pencil into the cutter. This one has the pencil shavings collection tray but the wire table clamp part is missing. They did produce this model before and after the war, this one is an earlier type with
