Stoneware: SaltglazedThe process of salt glazing originally developed in Germany, and spread to other western European countries. In a salt firing, unglazed pottery is loaded in the kiln and the kiln is then heated slowly to a little above 2350 degrees F. Table salt is then thrown into the hot kiln.
