This is a reconstruction of an extinct woodwind instrument, testified by many iconographic and literary sources. The instrument has a windcap, which at the same time serves as an air reservoir, allowing a continuous tone during playing. The original instrument would have been made with a tanned pig's bladder but the reproduction has a bag made from fine leather.
